Before any of it there were springy pencils. The first real company was Green Lawn, a lawn care business he started in high school in Madison, Wisconsin and ran out of the back seat of a Lincoln LS. It was a venture, not an empire. It taught pricing, scheduling, and what a promise to a customer costs. Alongside it came Real Carbon Solutions, an early run at carbon fiber phone cases and license plate covers, and the start of a self-taught education in trading and markets that never stopped.
The years after were a run of ventures across consumer and service businesses, most of them small, all of them instructive: Vigor Strength, a 100% custom cut-and-sew activewear and performance streetwear brand that was featured on The Ellen Show; TYK (Think You Know), an independent streetwear label; TC Media, a marketing agency founded in 2017 whose projects ran from client brands to a board game called Goons N Gats; and e-commerce brands including shirtsforgrins.com, which he sold. None of them was the destination. Each one sharpened the next.
Today, Tyk is the founder and fund manager of Plutus Capital, a private investment firm based in Tampa, Florida, focused on financial markets and digital assets, and the founder of NUMEN, a premium supplement brand launching in 2026, built on ingredient transparency: no proprietary blends, every ingredient disclosed at its actual dose, third-party tested. He serves on the boards of a sizeable RTD (ready to drink) vodka seltzer brand and an AI venture capital firm.
